Schedule a Free Class at CrossFit 184
If you stepped into CrossFit 184 ten years ago, you would’ve found a gritty, no‑nonsense, intensity‑first operation—puke boards on the wall, workouts designed to break you, and a culture that celebrated pain as a badge of honor. And honestly, we loved it. We were competitors, grinders, and young coaches who measured a workout’s success by how many people were flat on their backs afterward.
But over time, injuries piled up, life shifted, perspective changed, and our mission evolved. What started as a place built around competitive fitness slowly became a place built around people. Not just their fitness but their longevity, their mindset, their nutrition, their community, and their lives outside the gym.
This is the story of how we disrupted what CrossFit used to be and redefined what it truly means to care.
From Pain-Based Fitness to Purpose-Based Coaching
In the early years, our goal was simple: make the hour as hard and as full as possible. The cultural norm was intensity at all costs. Members pushed their limits every day. We didn’t rest we didn’t cool down and we didn’t listen to our bodies.
But our coaches and our members experienced burnout, injuries and a lack of progress inside the gym. This forced us to stop and reevaluate. After personally experiencing physical, emotional, and spiritual burnout, we realized something crucial:
Fitness without intention doses not produce results.
Health without care is exhausting.
We knew there had to be a better way.
Programming for LONGEVITY instead of of destruction
CrossFit was originally designed for consistency, training five to six days a week and living an active lifestyle outside the gym. But our early programming didn’t allow that. People were wrecked after two or three days and were not able to come to the gym as much as they needed.
So we shifted. Now, our programming is:
- Smart, intentional, and sustainable
- Designed for repeatability and longevity
- Built to help members feel better over time
Our goal is no longer to destroy people or build elite athletes, it’s to develop members over time.
The 15-Minute Connection Window That Changed Everything
One of the most impactful time at CrossFit 184 is the 15-minute blocks between classes.
That window allows coaches to:
- Build real relationships
- Coach individual skills
- Check in with members
- Update other coaches on injuries or first-timers
It also gives members time to breathe, connect, and actually enjoy being part of a community instead of rushing out while the next class stampedes in.
It’s not an accident people feel known here. It’s by design and it’s intentional.
The Other 23 Hours: Mindset & Nutrition
We realized we couldn’t claim to change lives if we only focused on the hour in the gym.
So we evolved over time. Now we do:
- Mindset Coaching that teaches people how their words shape their identity
- Nutrition Coaching that make progress sustainable instead of all‑or‑nothing
- Member check‑ins and accountability so people never fall through the cracks
We stopped saying, “Just work harder,” and started asking:
“What’s going on in your life outside the gym that’s holding you back?”
Because if we are only focusing on physical fitness, we are not delivering true and lasting results.
Redefining What It Means to Care
Today, every new member at CrossFit 184 goes through a structured onboarding experience that includes:
- Building Consistency through Accountability
- Nutrition Support
- Mindset Development
- Frequent touch points from our team
- Clear expectations and guidance
People don’t just join our gym, they join a system designed for them to succeed.
When someone asks, “Can I just jump into class?” the answer is no. And it is a “no” because we care about you as a person and want to see you succeed. We want you to win, and skipping steps can lead to frustration, injury, or overwhelm.
The Result? A Healthier, Happier, More Connected Community
The culture at CrossFit 184 today is completely different than it was a decade ago.
- Members train smarter and more consistently.
- Coaches have the time and space to build real relationships.
- People understand their nutrition and mindset
- Every person has a clear journey.
- Care is something we do, not something we say.
And it all happened because we chose to stop crushing people and started investing in them.
If you’re ready to experience the version of CrossFit that puts your health, happiness, and longevity first, you already belong here.
Committed. Caring. Community.
